I just wanted to thank Grace and Duncan and their team for the effort they put in to hosting the wedding party of my daughter Hannah and new son Steve. The way they had decorated the room was exceptional and showed a lot of thought and effort had been put into it. They spread of food was excellent with all of us eating probably more that we should as it was just to good to leave it alone. Thanks again to the whole team at The Bailey Head, and I thoroughly recommend them for good food, good beer, good gin, good cider, and good company. Thanks Xread more

Although the eternal battle of greedy bastards selling off pubs versus the general public wanting great beer, this is a place you have to go out of your way to visit. It's that good. I'm not even going to go on as I usually do. Go visit it and the other good pubs in the area. Good pubs. This is outstanding - go online and view. Outstanding real ale in various forms, outstanding continental beers, outstanding gin menu - like just ridiculous. Oh and they do food but what you want if you like your ale and this is your thing. Cheese boards, pork pies, venison casserole etc. Uniquely different, I would think proudly outstanding - go check it out!read more

What a lovely pub. The welcome is always warm and frindly from the excellent staff and owners. The selection of real ales is on constant rotation with a selection to suit all palates and as for the selection of Gins, WOW! Great bar snacks too, from a nice selection on the cheese board through to a very hearty venison casserole. My doggies Bremner and Fleur took me and my husband Shaun last night to sample my too favourite drinks combined together. Loved the Gin with Yorkshire tea, and Shaun enjoyed his real ales. Lovely welcome from the landlady, who summons the landlord to fetch said Gin out of cellar,as just delivered. That's what I call service. Will definitely be accompanying Bremner and Fleur again. Bought the CHALK CIC volunteers for an evening social after a training day. We descended in our masses and were treated like royalty bu Grace and Duncan. The best kept cellar I have ever come across in my 56 years in this Vale of tears. Plus a really lovely clientele courtesy of Duncan and Graces determination to keep idiots out. Thanks guys! Simply not just the best beers I have ever drunk, but the best *kept* beers. And not just a lovely atmosphere, but an atmosphere cultivated and guarded by Duncan and Grace. The Bailey Head is, to my thirsty eyes, the best pub in the area. I can't wait to introduce my Cardiffian friends to both the cellar and to the proprietors.read more

Great Pub with many Real Ales which change regularly and you can taste before you buy...great selection of cheeses, Pork Pies & really tasty Scotch Eggs. Hi folks i highly recommend The Bailey Head. What a pleasant place to sit a have a pint of their amazing cask ales and in my case a pork pie or two. Grace and Duncan are great people and are always up for a good chat. The thing i love the most is the fact i can take my dog inside with me and he is met with open arms and doggy treats. All in all you would be foolish not to give this place a try.read more
