The team at the Bailey Head are delighted to again be in Campaign for Real Ale’s Good Beer Guide for the fourth consecutive year. We have succeeded in getting into the guide every year since opening. Grace and Duncan have run venues for the past eight consecutive years both at the Bailey Head and their previous venue which have been in the GBG, never failing to get in.
We would particularly like to congratulate the Black Lion for their sixth consecutive year in the Good Beer Guide, on a night off we all enjoy a pint there.
Also we are delighted to see our friends at Stonehouse Brewery in the guide again.
There has been some controversy over the publication of the Good Beer Guide this year, but its delayed publication and knowing that every venue has been double checked by local CAMRA volunteers means that it may actually be more up to date than usual.
In a year when we have won UK’s Best Rural Independent Craft Beer Pub or Bar from the Society of Independent Brewers and Shrewsbury and West Shropshire CAMRA Market Towns Pub of the Year, it is great to continue our presence in the Good Beer Guide.
